We’re excited to announce the release of v4 of Candid’s Essentials and Premier APIs. This update delivers enhancements to data quality and classification.

What’s New in v4

• Improved data sourcing
  Data sourcing now updated for increased freshness and accuracy.
• Updated taxonomy classification
  Access to the latest version of Candid's Philanthropy Classification System (PCS) to capture emerging trends.
• Backward Compatibility
  v4 endpoints are structured to be backwards compatible with v3 response structure.
• New PDF API
  Dedicated PDF API available to Premier API customers to provide insights in an easy-to-read and intuitive PDF format.

Migration and Deprecation

Versions 1-3 of the Essentials and Premier APIs will be sunset on March 31, 2027. To ensure continuity of service, all integrations using v1-v3 should be updated to utilize v4 by that date.
